Following a period of sustained growth, Cogentia Healthcare Consulting is looking for talented, passionate and highly motivated individuals to join our Cambridge Team. Cogentia is a specialist consulting company focused on Health Economics and Market Access within the Life Sciences industry. Cogentia works closely with a range of pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech clients, across many different therapy areas, geographies and technologies.

As a Senior Consultant / Consultant, you will be responsible for managing projects and team members in the design, development and delivery of medium size consulting projects. You will lead research and analysis in a range of practice areas including market access strategy, payer research, economic evaluation, Health Technology Assessment and systematic reviews and evidence synthesis.

Responsibilities for the Consultant role include:

  • Business Development – while this is a primary responsibility of the Directors, our consultants play a key role in business development, especially in:
  • Ownership of projects and management of project teams to ensure clients receive high quality deliverables in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Support/Mentorship of less experienced team members.
  • Identifying opportunities for follow-on work and new leads   
  • Supporting the development of intellectual property for use on future engagements
  • Supporting development of proposals
  • Development of strong relationships with clients, payers, key opinion leaders, other stakeholders and influencers.

Candidates are expected to satisfy the following criteria:

  • Previous experience (likely to be at least 4 years) within a Market Access and Health Economics Consultancy is essential,   
  • Good understanding of P&MA and the issues facing P&MA clients, including - Payer trends, recent country specific P&MA developments, TA specific trends, pricing trends (list versus net) etc
  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to work to strict project deadlines
  • An entrepreneurial approach – demonstrating a desire to take on new challenges with a resourceful attitude
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English as well as strong interpersonal skills including effective listening and negotiation. Additional language ability is desirable.
  • Commitment to developing self and others
  • A PhD or MSc in health economics or a life sciences subject (e.g. medicine, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmacy)
  • Right to work in UK
